Mentoring Matters - The International Professional Affairs Committee is pleased to present Mentoring Matters. Carry this program to your chapter, to your state, to your local school, to your School Board, in every situation—wherever mentors are needed. This program is about Society members providing assistance in the "wisdom" department, not about doing new teachers' bulletin boards or grading papers, and also NOT about being judgmental— it's about giving mental and emotional support, having an ear that listens carefully and a mouth that doesn't talk much, giving advice ONLY when asked for advice. Delta Kappa Gamma members can differentiate what they hope to do for new teachers rom programs provided / mandated by districts. That's where they can truly make the difference!
